How we work

Small on purpose.

Staying small means the people who draw the work are the people who make it and fit it. Nothing is handed on, and every decision stays close to the work.

Drawn first

Each commission is drawn around the house before making begins, so proportion, construction and detail are settled at the bench rather than on site.

Made in our workshop

Doors, windows and joinery are made in our workshop near Honiton, with as much as practical prepared and checked before we arrive.

Fitted by us

The same two people fit the work, with care for your home and the people living in it while we are there.

Around four decades at the bench

Experience you can see in the detail.

Andy brings around four decades of joinery experience to every commission. That knowledge shows in the small decisions: how a joint is resolved, how timber is selected, how something should be proportioned and when a detail simply is not good enough.

It also means knowing older houses. Openings that have settled, walls that are not true and original details worth keeping are part of the work, not a reason to compromise it.

Where we work

Devon, the South West and the Thames Valley.

The workshop is in Stockland, near Honiton. We take on bespoke joinery commissions across the South West and into the Thames Valley, where the property, the scale or the level of detail makes the journey worthwhile.

In your home

How we behave while we're there.

A considered service should feel discreet from first visit to final fit.

Discreet by default

No signwritten vans. Your project does not need to advertise itself to the street.

Your home stays private

No photographs or details of the work are published without your approval.

Prepared in the workshop

As much as practical is made and pre-fitted before we arrive at your home.

Care while we're there

Careful fitting. Dust managed wherever practical. Your home left clean and tidy.

A straightforward way to begin.

01

Tell us about the house.

Send photographs, drawings or simply show us what has caught your eye. A finished specification is not needed.

02

Work through the details.

Proportion, timber, details and practical requirements are considered around the property and what you want to achieve.

03

Made for the house.

Once the details are agreed, we make the piece in the workshop and fit it with the same care.
